Hardening & Tempering
Thermal processes are all Heat Treatment processes which only involve heating of the products to be treated. With these processes we are able to optimize the mechanical properties of the products.
Most of the treatments in this section are hardening treatments which increase the hardness of the core of the product.
A frequently applied heat treatment is the hardening of steel. After hardening the product, the tempering process is started immediately, in which thermal tensions are reduced and the desired hardness is obtained. The result is a longer lasting component of the piece.
The processes performed by Hauck Heat Treatment Netherlands are mostly done in a vacuum or air atmosphere while quenching is done in pressurized nitrogen or argon.
